KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Public Safety officers have issued a citation to the driver of a pick-up truck that rolled over at Westnedge and Michigan Avenues downtown Saturday afternoon after it collided with a sedan in the middle of the busy downtown intersection just before 2 pm.
The three occupants of the truck were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Bronson Methodist.
Public Safety investigators say it appears the driver of the pick-up ran the red light at the intersection and was struck with enough force by the sedan, which was headed south, to roll the pickup over once, landing back on its tires.
The car hit the truck with enough force to roll the truck over. The occupants of the car were not injured and refused treatment at the scene.
The crash investigation resulted in a ticket for running a red light.
They say it doesn’t appear that Alcohol was a factor.
