PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — The Portage Fire Marshal will be investigating a home fire that chased a family out into the cold in the 10-thousand block of Oakland Drive just after 3:00 this morning.
The first arriving unit at the single story home discovered the family outside and smoke coming from the structure.
An interior attack on the flames, which were confined to the basement took about 20 minutes.
They estimate the damage at aboiut $25,000.
