KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Mourners are still trying to comprehend the loss of 16-year-old Mujey Dumbuya, the Kentwood teen that was found dead in a wooded area of Kalamazoo’s West Douglas neighborhood.
On Sunday family and friends gathered at the spot where her body was found, releasing balloons, leaving flowers, and sharing memories.
Prosecutors are pushing for charges against 42-year-old Quinn James, who is a person of interest in the murder of Dumbuya and is accused of raping her back in June.
Dumbuya’s boyfriend, 17-year-old Daquarius Bibbs, is on house arrest for his protection and will testify early as a material witness, to get his testimony on record in the rape case.
