BARRY COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Barry County murder suspect is heading to prison for intentionally running a man over twice.
On Friday 50-year-old John Calgaro was sentenced to 25 to 75 years in prison for second degree murder in the death of a South Haven man.
The body of Matthew Morin was found in a shallow grave, in a remote area off Pine Lake Road in Barry County in July of 2016.
Calgaro was tracked down after Morin was reported missing, because he had used his credit cards.
Police say he admitted to running the victim down, initially claiming it was accidental.
Calgaro’s sentence will run consecutively to a prior sentence he received for a probation violation in Van Buren County back in 2016.
