PORTER TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Sheriff deputies are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash.
It happened just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday on M-40 near Spatterdock Lake Street in Porter Township.
Authorities say 76-year-old Shirley Boersma from Three Rivers was crossing the highway when she was hit by 77-year-old Dale Hoekwater from Jenison driving southbound on M-40.
Boersma was pronounced dead at the scene.
They say that alcohol was not a factor, but the investigation remains open to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
