KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — July’s Arthop gets underway in downtown Kalamazoo Friday afternoon, as well as something completely new coming to Bronson Park.
Art Council of Greater Kalamazoo’s Beth McCann says Arthop attendees will have the option to bring a cold one into their first ever “After-hop” event.
It’s a special edition of their “Summertime Live” concert featuring Kalamazoo-native Nat Zegree, but it is also the first time B.Y.O.B. will be allowed in Bronson Park.
But there are some rules before bringing that beer, wine, or liquor.
Drinks can be carried in in containers no more than 72-ounces, drinkers will have to bring their I.D. and check in at the station in the middle of Bronson Park for a 21 and up wristband.
McCann says police will be on hand making sure it is a safe and fun night.
Alcohol is allowed in the park from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday evening and the concert begins at 8 p.m.
