BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — An 8-year-old girl has drowned in a pool in a residential area in the 200 block of Taft St. in Battle Creek.
The young girl was pulled from the pool unconscious and unresponsive at about 8:00 last night.
First responders arrived soon after and began CPR, and it was continued after EMS crews arrived and transported her to the hospital where the child was later pronounced dead.
The incident is still under investigation.
The name of the elementary school student has not been released.
