WASHINGTON DC (WKZO AM/FM) – The US Justice Dept. says it agrees with the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools and three Catholic high schools in connection with a brief filed in federal court that challenges the state’s ban on in-person classes.
The brief from the Justice Dept. states that families and schools have a right to practice their religion via in-person learning, and that the ban violates that right.
A federal judge in Kalamazoo will hear arguments on Monday.
A three-week ban on in-person classes was extended this past week.
