KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It may not exactly be a report card, but Kalamazoo Public Schools superintendent Darrin Slade has received his annual evaluation and managed to earn the highest score possible.
Trustees went into closed session, before coming out to resume their public meeting last night to announce the results of their annual evaluation.
Instead of just a few subjects, Dr. Slade was graded on 34 different standards, from how he handles the budget, to how he handles staff, from his performance on improving curriculum to public relations.
Board chair Ti’Anna Harrison says the rankings were from zero to three.
Trustees say he has met every expectation.
Dr. Slade says it’s a team effort.
The good evaluation did not come with an immediate increase in pay, but it could when the trustees review his contract as part of the budget next month.
