KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Five adult men have been arrested by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, the Michigan Department of Corrections, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
They conducted an operation on Saturday aimed at addressing gun violence in the city.
A traffic stop in the 1000 block of Bridge Street resulted in a 33-year-old man being arrested after he was found to have a concealed and loaded gun near his groin.
Police also found fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine along with a large amount of US currency that is believed to be drug sale profits.
The gun had been reported stolen out of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department and the suspect is not legally allowed to have a gun or ammunition due to prior convictions.
Details on the other four people arrested have not been released.
