LEROY TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Leroy Township man for making what they call credible threats to harm relatives using guns and explosives.
The 33-year-old was arrested on Christmas after a police chase through several jurisdictions in Calhoun County that ended in Emmett Township when his vehicle got stuck in a field.
Deputies say he had physically assaulted a relative in the 10000 block of Running Deer Ridge in Leroy Township before taking off, and threatened to come back with a gun and explosives.
He then returned to the home, tried to hit deputies with his vehicle, and then left. Deputies add they also learned he may have been involved in a Battle Creek armed robbery on Wednesday as well.
No one was hurt during the chase, but an Emmett Township Public Safety vehicle was damaged during it.
The man is facing several felony charges and his name has not yet been released.
