HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has taken an injured bald eagle from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office after it was found Sunday morning in a Hamilton Township ditch.
A resident called 9-1-1 after finding the eagle near the intersection of County Road 681 and 72nd Avenue just after 9:30 a.m.
The DNR says the bird had been laying in the ditch for a few days before being spotted.
The eagle will be taken to a rehabilitation center and is adolescent aged.
The DNR and the sheriff’s office have not described the injuries.
