PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Last night was a night for the Portage City Council to express their appreciation for all the help they have gotten since last week’s tornado.
Council members say assistance started rolling in that evening and it’s continued since in the form of donations, volunteers and other help.
They also had a few additional asks, for continued compassion, forbearance and continued assistance.
Several mentioned that they are particularly thankful that no one was killed, that the multiple warning systems that went off seemed to work, and it was announced that there have been no deaths or injuries during the clean-up, which can often be dangerous as well.
