KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The 2017 Mid-American Conference preseason football poll is out. The Western Michigan Broncos are anticipated to finish second behind Toledo in the West Division.
The Rockets are also expected to beat projected East Division champion Ohio in the MAC Championship Game.
There were some big losses over the offseason for the Broncos. Quarterback Zach Terrell and wide receiver Corey Davis graduated. Davis was taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Also, head coach P.J. Fleck bolted for the Big Ten, filling an opening at Minnesota.
But several of Western’s key players are returning, including running backs Jarvion Franklin and Jamauri Bogan and offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor.
The Broncos begin their season at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Sept. 2 against Southern California.
