SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A failure to yield at a stop sign caused a two-vehicle crash in Cass County injuring both a 63-year-old and a 90-year-old driver on Saturday.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened a few minutes past 4 p.m. on M-62 and Indian Lake Road in Silver Creek Township.
Investigation revealed that the 90-year-old driver was traveling northbound on Indian Lake Road when he failed to yield at the stop sign at Indian Lake Road and M-62, striking the vehicle of the 63-year-old driver who was traveling eastbound on M-62.
One of the victims was treated on scene, and the other was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Assisting agencies at the scene included the Indian Lake Fire Department, and Pride Care Ambulance.
Both individuals were wearing seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
