LANSING (WKZO) — State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker has proposed legislation to install tracking devices in all state-owned and leased vehicles.
The Lawton Republican was inspired by the allegations against a state employee, Werner Van Noll who spent many of his days golfing, instead of inspecting elevators, which is what he was supposed to be doing.
Schuitmaker says devices that record how far and where a vehicle is driven would make sure they are only used for state trips and that the worker is doing his job.
Van Noll remains on leave while the Attorney General investigates.
