PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage City Manager Michael Carroll is facing a charge of drunk driving, WWMT reported Wednesday.
According to reports, Carroll was arrested on August 27 after driving with a blood alcohol level of .17 in his system. He was arraigned and charged Tuesday night.
Portage Mayor Patricia Randall told WWMT that they are aware of the charges, but will not comment on the matter until it is finalized in court.
As part of a $500 bond agreement, Carroll cannot leave the State of Michigan or use alcohol.
The case is ongoing at this time.
This comes as St. Joseph County prosecutor John McDonough is facing trouble in a drunk driving-related case earlier this year. McDonough recently managed to avoid jail time after violation of his bond, which also prohibited him from purchasing or drinking alcohol.
He must now attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings four days a week, and his attorney says he has already been getting counseling.
