KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo County Detectives will seek charges today against a heart-broken husband who triggered an armed stand off with County Deputies early Tuesday.
The suspect broke in and stabbed another man visiting his estranged wife at her unit at the Canterbury Apartments in Oshtemo. She fled with their two kids to the neighbor’s apartment.
The suspect followed, breaking in and taking them hostage. That gave Deputies a chance to rescue the stabbing victim who is expected to recover.
The suspect let the kids go, but held his wife hostage for several hours before surrendering. She suffered minor injuries.
The suspect also required treatment for self-inflicted wounds delaying his arraignment.
