OSHTEMO (WKZO) — Formal charges have been filed against the Kalamazoo man who allegedly held his estranged wife captive earlier this week.
Evidence presented to the court shows 22-year-old David Edward Tyler III of South Haven stopped to buy gloves and a knife before driving over to Canterbury Apartments, where he allegedly attacked one of his wife’s co-workers who tried to protect her.
That co-worker is recovering from multiple stab wounds to the head and chest. Tyler is charged with two counts of attempted murder, home invasion and unlawful detainment. He has been ordered held without bond.
He had been sentenced just the week before to four days in jail for assaulting and resisting officers in Oshtemo in January. He was still on probation for that crime.
