KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — There’s a lot to a story about a home invasion and stabbing in Kalamazoo last evening and even more we have yet to learn about.
Public Safety says at about 7:40 Saturday evening they received a frantic call from an elderly female at Drakes Pond Apartments saying that someone had broken into her apartment and now he is covered in blood.
Arriving officers found that man in a vehicle. He had suffered stab wounds to his head and abdomen.
They also found another man covered in blood but not wounded. Both were shipped off to Bronson Emergency, the stabbing victim to get stitches, the other to be evaluated for complications of drug use.
Detectives say it appears that the first man broke into the apartment of an 83-year-old woman,
pushed her to the floor and then fled back to his unit.
Then a short time later, he staggered back out with stab wounds and had gotten into a vehicle, perhaps to drive himself to the hospital.
Both men were treated and then booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail, one on a home invasion charge, the other for assault.
What we don’t know is why all of this took place.
