Kalamazoo’s Derek Jeter is still picking up honors long after his retirement from baseball. Last night at the ESPY’s he was given the ICON Award. Actor Ben Affleck grudgingly did the honors as a Boston Red Sox fan.
Jeter says he doesn’t watch much baseball and recently enjoyed his first Fourth of July barbeque in a couple of decades.
Jeter says he doesn’t see a future as a coach but says he might be interested in being part of an ownership team.
He appeared at the awards with model-girlfrend Hannah Davis on his arm, tieless, tanned and relaxed.
