STURGIS (WKZO)– It’s given the term “Bagman” a whole new meaning in crime.
An unknown person walked into the Sturgis Party Store covered from head to toe in garbage bags, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
The unusual robbery took place about 1:30 Thursday morning. He was last seen and heard running northwest from the scene in the 400 block of North Nottawa St.
The black bags made him difficult to see for long in the dark.
A traditional ‘bagman’ is the guy who transfers illicitly obtained cash from one location to another…so in a way this bagman really dressed the part.
