KALAMAZOO (WKZO)– Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow has released a list of the candidates who will appear on the ballot in Municipal elections in Kalamazoo in November.
Yesterday was the candidate’s deadline for filing.
As we reported last week, incumbent Mayor Bobby Hopewell will square off against Kris Mbah in the city’s first race for mayor in nearly a century.
Charter changes approved by voters have altered how commissioners and the mayor are elected.
There are 16-candidates running for 6 commission seats, four of them are incumbents. A few have run before and lost. The election will be November 4th.

Running for Mayor: Incumbent Bobby Hopewell and challenger Kris Mbah.
Running for Commission seats are Incumbents David Anderson, Don Cooney, Jack Urban and Eric Cunningham, and candidates Leona Carter, Cody Dekker, Grand Fletcher, Timothy Graham, SonJailita Hulbert, Erin Knott, Jason Milan, Matt Milcarek, Kevin Statin, Shannon Sykes, Daniel VanSweeden, and Reed Youngs.
