BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police have arrested an 18-year-old Battle Creek man on charges related to having colorful pills that look like children’s vitamins, but presumed to contain methamphetamine.
According to a news release dated Tuesday, August 30, from the City of Battle Creek, the arrest occurred on Wednesday, August 17th around 9:40 a.m. when police investigated an assault complaint at the Finish Line Laundry on East Columbia Avenue.
Authorities had received a vehicle description as part of the investigation, and made a traffic stop on the possible vehicle involved, driven by the suspect.
During the stop, police found several illegal narcotics. The Battle Creek Police lab then tested a package of what appeared to be a colorful pill or vitamin, showing it to possibly contain meth.
Police initially arrested the young man on charges of illegal narcotics and assault. The investigation continues, including follow-up identification of the pills.
