CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s investigators say a 63-year-old woman spent more than 30 hours on the porch of an acquaintance after she was kicked out of her home by her husband, who assaulted her and stripped her naked.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Marilyn Kittinger walked eight miles to the home of a customer of the family’s lawncare business, hiding in ditches when cars approached.
On Wednesday, 64-year-old Brian Kittinger was charged with aggravated domestic assault and freed on bond.
Marilyn Kittinger remains in Oaklawn Hospital, receiving treatment for undisclosed injuries. The Albion woman, who was reported missing, was found alive Tuesday.
Detectives believe she may have been a victim of domestic abuse for some time.
