KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Police say a Western Michigan University student fabricated his story about getting robbed late Saturday near the flagpoles on the Kalamazoo campus.
The injuries he suffered that night don’t match up with the account that was given, according to investigators.
However, investigators also say a second robbery victim, who lost his sweatshirt after being accosted by five young males, is telling the truth. Those muggers remain at large.
Students are still being advised not to travel alone on campus after sundown.
