KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -A 22-year-old Kalamazoo man is in custody, after police say he fired shots at an acquaintance but put several other people in jeopardy Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the area of Douglas Avenue and Alamo Avenue for a report of shots being fired.
Several witnesses called 911 reporting the incident and gave dispatchers a description of the shooter and his vehicle, which allowed officers to locate the vehicle a short distance away. The alleged shooter exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and arrested him without incident.
The suspect was arrested on several weapons and assault charges. He is currently being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
