KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As temperatures plunge and wind chills register below zero, the Kalamazoo Coalition for the Homeless says a warming center will be available at the Salvation Army on South Burdick Street.
Leander Rabe, the coalition board president, says in addition to people getting out of the cold, the coalition will provide other services and resources.
Sleeping bags, tents, hot showers and hand warmers would be available.
Rabe said the coalition needs people who can volunteer their time to keep the warming shelter running.
The warming center will be open Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. inside the Salvation Army gym at 1700 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo.
