BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Residents of Battle Creek say they too are mourning after the deadly shootings in Kalamazoo.
Three women killed at the Cracker Barrel in Texas Township were from the Cereal City, and a 14-year-old in critical condition is enrolled at Harper Creek Middle School.
Mayor Dave Walters said the Battle Creek Community Foundation has collected multiple donations since the tragedy.
“They’ve already receieved over $35,000 in donations to help the families,” Walters said.
A vigil will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Dr., at 7 p.m. Thursday.
