LANSING (WKZO-AM) — Michiganders may soon be allowed to donate to the American Red Cross while filling out their taxes.
Legislation sponsored by Sen. Rick Jones, R-Grand Ledge, is now on Gov. Rick Snyder’s desk that would introduce the option on future state returns.
Eight charities currently raise money through checkoffs, including Special Olympics Michigan, the United Way, the Michigan Alzheimer’s Association and ALS of Michigan.
Jones expects Snyder to sign both bills.
