KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — An interfaith service was held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church late Thursday to remember the victims of Tuesday’s bike tragedy on North Westnedge Avenue in Cooper Township.
It’s one way the community has learned to cope with these mass tragedies. Once again, there wasn’t an empty seat in the house.
Larry Paulik and Tony Nelson were long-time members of the congregation, and volunteered in church programs.
They also held a memorial at Grace Spring Bible Church in Richland on Thursday. Richland and Augusta may have suffered the largest loss from Tuesday’s tragedy. Five of the nine bike riders called those communities home.
Debra Bradley and Suzanne Sippel were killed. Paul Gobble and Paul Runnels remain in serious condition.
Sheila Jeske was upgraded to fair condition Thursday.
