KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The city of Kalamazoo will be creating a temporary “pop-up” bike route between the Vine and Edison neighborhoods past the Farmers Market on Bank Street beginning Thursday.
It will stay in place through the weekend.
The plan is to eventually create a permanent bike lane connecting the two neighborhoods.
The route was scheduled to be established before last week’s bike tragedy on North Westnedge Avenue in Cooper Township and is part of Thursday’s “dump the pump” promotion of transportation alternatives.
A map of the bike lane is above.
