KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — If Democrat Hillary Clinton wins a blowout two weeks from tomorrow, it will largely be because of women.
Pollsters say she is running about neck and neck with Donald Trump when it comes to men, but there is a huge gap when it comes to female voters who make up 51 percent of the population.
Kalamazoo’s Democratic Party held a rally for female candidates and voters last evening. County Commission Candidate Julie Rogers said all the signs are there, suggesting they will be a big victory.
She said going door to door in her campaign, she has heard from a lot of republicans who are not voting for Trump and are either voting for Clinton or not voting at all.
She believes there will be a “coat tail” effect for all democrats on the ballot, men and women alike.
One poll in Michigan gives Clinton a 13 point lead, another says its only 4 percent. A new ABC poll taken after the third debate says Clinton is ahead by 12 percent nationally.
West Michigan Republicans plan to hold a get out the vote rally at the Republican Headquarters in Grand Rapids at 6 p.m. this evening. Attorney General Bill Schuette and State Party Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel will appear.
