ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions are enjoying a much-needed bye week.
Detroit will return to action one week from Sunday in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. The Lions remain winless on the season at 0-and-8.
The Colts are celebrating a 45-30 victory over the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football in Indianapolis. Carson Wentz bounced back from a rough performance against the Titans as he threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Jonathan Taylor ran all over the Jets defense with 172 yards and two touchdowns. Nyheim Hines ran for 74 yards and a score.
Mike White started at quarterback for the Jets and threw a touchdown before he left due to injury. Josh Johnson came on in relief and threw for 317 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
Indianapolis is now 4-and-5 while New York slips to 2-and-6.
The Dallas Cowboys will get their starting quarterback this weekend. The team announced that Dak Prescott will start on Sunday against the Broncos after missing last week’s game against the Vikings with a right calf strain. Cooper Rush led Dallas to a 20-16 win over Minnesota in Prescott’s absence.
Prescott told reporters that he’s had two good days of practice, and he’ll be ready to go for Sunday. The sixth-year pro has passed for over 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.
