COMSTOCK (WKZO-AM) — Jeter’s Leaders, the special group of teenagers who have been learning and applying life lessons from former Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, have embarked on a holiday project campaign at a series of area schools.
On Tuesday, they were at Green Meadow Elementary, helping students decorate holiday cookies and tree ornaments.
High school senior Michaela Kessler said the students in the Jeter’s Leaders program are the ones who decide what programs they are going to do. That’s part of the leadership training.
She says the program has opened a lot of doors for her and been a lot of work.
The other Jeter’s leaders will be taking their projects to other schools and colleges this week.
