LOUISVILLE (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man faces 15 years to life in a federal penitentiary after he was convicted of sex trafficking in a Federal Court in Kentucky.
34-year-old David Quintrell Givhan, who went by the street name “Premier” was arrested in May after one of his trafficking victims, who had been transported from Michigan to work the Kentucky Derby, escaped, and with the help of a hotel clerk, notified authorities.
Prosecutors say he forced women into prostitution and then kept the cash by beating, terrorizing and raping them.
The Louisville jury convicted him of one count of sex trafficking and three counts of interstate transportation for prostitution.
He will be sentenced next March.
