LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It didn’t take long for Brian Calley to land on his feet.
Term-limited as Lieutenant Governor and unsuccessful in gaining the Republican nomination in last August’s primary election, the one-time state lawmaker from Portland was named on Wednesday as the new president of the Small Business Association of Michigan. In a statement, Board Chairman Chad Paalman called Calley a “champion” of small business and with “his experience and smart, strategic approach, we know that Brian will serve our members well.”
Calley will replace Rob Fowler as president, but Fowler will remain with SBAM as its Chief Executive Director.
In a video released earlier this week, Rick Snyder didn’t say what his long-range future plans would be after his eight years as Governor, only that he and his wife will be taking a vacation in the Upper Peninsula this spring.
