HOUSTON (WKZO AM/FM) — An extremely dangerous suspected killer with connections to west Michigan escaped during transport to Texas. He has since been recaptured.
44-year-old Cedric Marks, a mixed martial arts fighter called “Spiderman” in the ring, managed to get out of his restraints when the prisoner transport van stopped at a McDonalds outside of Houston.
Chief Jeff Christy says Marks was recaptured after a 9-hour manhunt yesterday, found hiding in a trash can. He is headed to Temple, Texas to face double murder charges, for the alleged killing of an ex-girlfriend and her new friend.
Ginell McDonough, who is Marks’ wife and the mother of two of his children, is sitting in the Muskegon County Jail, charged with letting Marks, who was on the run at the time, stay at her place in early January.
