KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A person of interest in a fatal fire in Kalamazoo’s Eastside neighborhood is now in custody thanks to tips from residents.
Public Safety Officers were looking for 32-year-old Melissa Sue Morgan, who they believed was seen leaving a home in the 400 block of Wallace Avenue on February 3rd just before it caught on fire and the body of 31-year-old Zachariah Hayes was found inside.
Last week Friday Morgan was found in the 3800 block of Gull Road after information from the public.

KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety needs help from the public to locate a person of interest in last weekend’s suspicious and fatal fire in the East Side neighborhood.
They are looking for 32-year old Mellissa Sue Morgan. They say she has been seen in several different locations around Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties.
The body of Zachariah Hayes was found in the burned out shell of his home in the 400 block of Wallace early Sunday morning.
Results of his autopsy have not been released, but detectives began calling it a suspicious fire after they received preliminary results.
There were reports that two people were seen leaving the home shortly before the fire broke out, and left with Morgan’s dog.
