SOLON TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that has left 3 children and an adult woman dead at an address on 19-Mile-Road near Cedar Springs in northern Kent County.
Sheriff Michelle Lajoye-Young says for now they believe the public is safe.
They are asking anyone in the area who may have surveillance video of the street to help them identify anyone who was in the area on Monday.
Forensic teams are going over the home and autopsies are planned to identify the victims and the cause of death in each case.
Lajoye-Young says it’s been a difficult case for the investigators. “Very, very, sad, it’s always hard when there are deaths in the community, but it’s absolutely the most difficult when kids are involved.”
WOOD-TV reports that the victims have been identified as sisters 2-year-old Alaina, 6-year-old Cassidy, 8-year-old Kyrie, and the woman is 28-year-old Aubrianne Moore.
