LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan’s Republican Party met over the weekend in Lansing, selecting Laura Cox to be Party Chair.
Terry Bowman was elected Vice-Chair.
Cox says their main focus will be returning Donald Trump to the White House for a second term and hanging on to the majority in the State House in 2020.
They will also have to find someone to take on Democratic incumbent Senator Gary Peters.
Cox is a former State Representative and the wife of former Attorney General Mike Cox.
Outgoing State Party Chair Ron Weiser who declined to run for another term revealed for the first time that he has contracted prostate cancer.
