SANTA FE, NM (WKZO AM/FM) — A Santa Fe teen accused of fatally shooting a Kalamazoo man in New Mexico could be charged as an adult.
Prosecutors filed a petition to pursue a second-degree murder charge against the now 18-year-old after 64-year-old Richard Milan was killed in September of 2018.
Milan was on a California road trip with his wife and stopped in Santa Fe.
He was walking their dog at night when he apparently got into an argument with a group of teens or young adults and one of them shot Milan, who later died at the hospital.
Charges against the teen were first dismissed due to lack of evidence but now additional charges could be filed.
