JACKSON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — A colder-than-normal April kept furnaces running and the energy bill may have some struggling, according to Consumers Energy.
The utility company announced it made calls to some 60,000 customers, statewide, with overdue payments to let them know help is available.
Consumers encourages people to dial the 211 helpline or visit mi211.org to find resources. Two other programs — the Consumers Energy CARE Program and State Emergency Relief are available to help residents unable to pay heat bills.
