JACKSON, MI (WTVB)- Most of the of the power is back on following high winds Friday which peaked at near 70 miles an hour and knocked down power lines and trees around the state.
Michigan’s two major utilities expect full restoration by Monday night.
Consumers Energy got help from out of state crews over the weekend and there were just a handful of outages on Monday morning.
Nearly 90,000 customers lost power at the height of the outages. While almost 2,300 lost power in Calhoun County, the lights stayed on for the most part in Branch County.
DTE Energy said service has been restored to 90-percent of its customers as of Sunday night.
About 400-thousand homes and businesses lost electric service on Friday, and two people were killed.
