(WKZO AM/FM) –- Students from more than 175 schools across the state are jumping on their bikes Wednesday for Michigan’s 7th annual Bike to School Day.
Katie Alexander, Director of Safe Routes to School, says the event is a way to promote active transportation and awareness for communities to become more walkable and bikable.
Last year, over 3,000 biking events were held nationwide with nearly 50,000 students taking part in Michigan.
Drivers should be extra cautious of pedestrians and cyclists on the roadways.
