ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The University of Michigan’s annual survey on the bad habits of teenagers continues to show some improvement and one disturbing statistic.
Each year they survey about 44,000 teens to find out what substances they are abusing and once again smoking and drinking continued to drop and marijuana use remained stable.
But Dr. Wilson Compton says the big shock is that 37-percent of high school seniors are vaping in 2018, which is a 10-percent increase since last year.
That’s the largest one year spike they had ever seen for any substance in the 4 decade long history of the study.
That equates to about 1.3-million more vapers this year than last being addicted to nicotine.
