ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A driver involved in a hit and run crash, may himself been the victim of a car/pedestrian crash in Allegan County Friday morning.
Dispatch sent an EMS crew to check on the welfare of a man seen lying along U.S. 131 just north of the Wayland exit.
At about 9am they found the man had died violently, suffering the kind of injuries suffered when hit by a vehicle.
A check of police records revealed that about 7 hours earlier, there was a report of an abandoned car that crashed after a report of a vehicle driving erratically in the area.
That car belonged to the man who would later be found dead. .
They also had a report of another driver hitting a deer in that area about 3-1/2 hours before the body was discovered, but no deer was found.
Tests are being conducted.
