SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested two persons in Springfield Wednesday morning following a traffic violation which led to the discovery of numerous identifications that did not belong to the vehicle occupants.
The vehicle was stopped on Jackson Street near Lenon Street.
Calhoun County Detectives executed a search warrant on the vehicle and found 19 different identifications from six states including Michigan.
They also found stolen checks from eight persons covering five West Michigan counties.
A 42-year-old Dowling man, who was currently on parole for Receiving/Concealing Stolen Property, Burglary, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm, along with a 33-year-old Plainwell female, who was on probation for Welfare Fraud, were lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
Calhoun County Detectives are working with multiple agencies regarding the identity thefts.
