LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Despite the nicer weather for Christmas travelers, this year, the holiday death toll more than doubled, jumping from 4 last year to 10 deaths this year.
It’s a preliminary figure as some victims remain hospitalized, and some fatalities may not have been reported to State Police.
They say the ten died in 9 crashes. In four of them, seat belts were not worn. In three others, alcohol was a factor and four of the victims were pedestrians who were hit by vehicles.
