KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The man accused of killing six people and wounding two others in three shootings on Saturday night in the Kalamazoo area has been arraigned.
He made his initial court appearance through a closed-circuit television hook-up from jail.
WKZO-AM’s Jim McKinney says there were no surprises when 45-year-old Jason Brian Dalton was read his charges.
“The judge approved 16 felony warrants,” McKinney said. “Six murder, two attempted murder and two felony gun warrants.”
Bond was also denied.
Dalton is accused of severely wounding a woman at a complex of townhomes northeast of Kalamazoo, shooting a man and his son to death at a car lot, and killing four more in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel along Interstate 94.
A fifth victim allegedly shot by Dalton in the restaurant’s parking lot remains on life support.
